More About Dr. Chris

Dr. Christopher Z. Lachowski, is a pioneer in the appropriate integration of a wide variety of natural therapies to design a treatment approach which is specific to your individual needs.

He is a chiropractic family physician specializing in the practice of wholistic natural medicine and is licensed as a chiropractic physician, DC, by the State of Connecticut since 1988. He has certification in radiology, acupuncture and physiotherapy and postgraduate training in natural medicine and herbology. 
He is a Board Certified Clinical Nutritionist and has a masters degree in human nutrition.  He has a certification by the International College of Applied Kinesiology as a specialist in muscle therapy and applied kinesiology.   He is Board Certified in Occupational Health serving as an Occupational Health Consultant, working with industry to design occupational health and wellness programs.  He is a Certified Ergonomic Specialist, CES, in ergonomic workstation design and workplace modification. He served as a Sports Medicine Consultant to the Zephyr Cycling team.

He attended SUNY at Buffalo, receiving his undergraduate Bachelors degree in Biomechanical Engineering.   While attending the National College of Chiropractic, Dr. Lachowski was employed as a biomechanical engineer for the NCC Spinal Ergonomics and Joint Research Lab contributing to research in a low back pain study. 

He stays active as an outdoorsman, triathalete, cross-country skier and tennis player.  He is a strong advocate of maintaining a clean environment and lectures frequently in the Southeastern region of CT.

Dr. Christopher Z. Lachowski, also called Dr. Chris by many of his patients, is a physician who has over 20 years experience in helping people relieve their pain and guide them to living longer and healthier lives.  He is a physician who believes in utilizing a wholistic integrative natural medicine approach to help people with many common health problems to achieve a higher level of function and performance in their lives.  This includes physical medicine therapies, bio-energetic micro-current electroacupuncture therapies, herbal botanical medicines, nutritional food planning and supplement counseling and healthy lifestyle counseling.  He actively works as your “health coach” to personally design a wellness plan for health preservation and longevity for all of his patients. 

Dr. Chris believes that the job of a physician is to teach you about true health and wellness and how to stop the progression of chronic disease from interfering with your life.  He works with patients with a one on one personal consultation visits in a relaxed in-office setting.  He personally does the examinations, evaluations, diagnosis and provides the treatments and counseling for you.

He is a licensed chiropractic physician with an additional advanced master’s degree in human nutrition and is a board certified clinical nutritionist by the accredited ACBN, American Clinical Board of Nutrition.  He also has additional post-graduate training in integrative functional medicine and naturopathy.  He began his education in mechanical engineering with a specialization in bioengineering and biomechanics of prosthetic design.  He applies his knowledge of biomechanics and kinesiology in evaluating patients who are in pain and design a treatment plan that addresses the cause of the pain and to rebalance and strengthen the body.    He has contributed to research work in understanding the causes of low back pain.

Dr. Chris utilizes his advanced training in clinical nutrition to help patients identify their unique nutritional individuality.  Everyone has a unique body type and requirement for nutrients to allow their body metabolism to work optimally.  Dr. Chris utilizes the current advances in nutritional science to test for individual body deficiencies and requirements for specific nutrients to support the proper function, health and balance of the body.

Dr. Chris has been active lecturing in his local community.  He has given lectures on “How to Live to 100 and Still Be Dancing”, “How to Rejuvenate an Aging Metabolism” and programs like “Keys to a Healthy Lifestyle and Longevity”. He has taught a cooking class called “What to Eat to Live Healthy for Life” and is now currently running regular Vitality and Longevity workshops at his office.

 

Dr. Chris was born in a polish community in Buffalo, NY USA.  He grew up playing hockey, tennis, baseball and softball.  He played hockey and tennis for all 4 years in high school.  In college he persued bicycle racing and organized a 5 day 600 mile bicycle ride fundraiser for the National College of Chiropractic research department.  He participated in long distance 100 mile cycling events and competed in a few triathalons. He is currently active with playing competitive tennis, cross trains in cycling, running and swimming, enjoys body board surfing, winter hiking in the White Mountains of NH and cross-country skiing.

What is D.C.?  
This stands for doctor of chiropractic, chiropractor or chiropractic physician and is a state licensed and federally accredited profession.  A chiropractor is trained to examine, analyze and diagnose the human living body and its diseases and administer treatment to the human body by manual manipulation, mechanical, electrical or natural methods including acupuncture.  This includes the use of heat, water, light, exercise and the administration of foods, food concentrates, food extracts and vitamins.

What is the ACBN?
